I keep reading about detoxifying the body but what does that even mean? If you start fasting toxins you will get a builup of toxins. Get rid of them by eating whole grain, unprocessed, fresh food. Organic fruits, meats and vegetables will be better for you than a extreme diet.
A diet of fresh salads (beetroot, radish, cucumber) and fresh juices (orange, lemon) as well as fasting should give you the results you need. It’s mostly about giving your vital organs a well needed rest rather than looking for the perfect cleansing detox diet.
detoxing is still quite a controversial issue. if your aim is to develop a healthier body, then eat fruits, vegetables, whole grain, and protein. but be wary of fads and quick fixes that tell you that doing this and that wil detox your body. i think your organs exist because they have their assigned duties to keep your body in working condition. so as long as you exercise, eat well, think and act positively, you shouldn’t have to worry about a cleansing detox diet.
p.s. raw foods are good for your body, but you don’t have to rely strictly on raw food to survive. it’s ok if you eat non-raw food. your body won’t collapse. not that i say don’t follow your raw food diet (i had tried it before), but know that if it doesn’t work out for you, don’t beat yourself up.
For a detox cleansing diet, good food combination helps, as well as raw food and self-made fresh juices, yet, you should not make too radical changes at first.
Combine vegetables with starchy food or with protein-rich food – never mix starchy food with protein food.
Eat sweet fruit by itself. Eat melons and cantalopes by themselves.
A diet like this would help cleanse the colon by itself. High fiber food such as pancakes made from spelt flour (with a dash of lecithin to avoid sticking) will also help.
Try this drink: Freshly made lemonade with real lemon juice, purified water and maple syrup first thing every morning.
Otherwise, I think a detox cleansing diet is a good idea when it is not overdone.

two large grapefruits
four lemons
300ml of distilled water (or filtered)
two tablespoons of cold pressed flax oil
one teaspoon of acidophilus powder
one or two cloves of garlic
two inches of ginger
Grate the garlic and ginger
Squeeze the juice of the grapefruit and lemon plus the garlic and ginger into a blender with the water, flax oil and acidophilus powder
Blend for 30 seconds
This is by far the best liver detox diet drink ever which will flush your liver giving it the chance to heal itself.
