Detox Products

The concept of harmful toxins is not new. The idea that substances entering our bodies are the root of all our illnesses has been a favorite explanation for what ails us for hundreds of years.
To help cleanse our systems of these toxins many people believe we need to consume other substances.
Licorice is one of the many natural detox products used to fight toxins in our bodies. It is a mild laxative but there is evidence that it can be responsible for decreased libido and liver damage.
Acai berry, cinnamon, plums and prunes other ingredients of detox products whose benefits may be due to a combination of the placebo effect and the laxative effect.
There are colon cleansing foods that are supposed to get rid of wastes. If you want to keep your colon sparkling clean, fiber will be a large part of your diet. Insoluble fiber for stopping constipation and for getting rid of waste matters. Soluble fiber harbors good bacteria. Foods high in fiber include fruits, nuts, beans, seeds and whole grains. Some other high fiber colon cleansing foods include brown rice, barley, cabbage, beets, carrots, peas, citrus and apples.
You will find many people giving glowing testimonials to detox supplements they have tried. Many people think that this is the best kind of evidence that these products work. Other opinions point to the lack of scientific research into the efficacy of these products. There are also products that incorporate the word detox into their name. You can’t help but wonder how they “detox face wash” can help rid your body of toxins. Talk about “detox cleansing”!
Detox foot baths are recommended by some people for drawing out toxins. Nobody has been able to produce scientific proof that these do anything other than color the water with metal from the electrodes. In my opinion a lack of interest in detox foot baths from the scientific community is an indication of how seriously they should be taken.
The cranberry juice detox drink is among the more natural detox products. It’s supposed to clear the bowels, lymphatic system and kidneys of toxins. You can, of course, drink the juice straight or mix it with water but you drink it every day for about three weeks. The juice is used in conjunction with a diet of grains, fruit and vegetables. It is recommended that the cranberry juice detox be undertaken using pure, unsweetened juice.
There are also detox products that complement a natural body detox diet program. One such program contains 18 products and a 21 day detox program. There is another product called Organic Superfood which combines 22 ingredients including greens, algae, sprouts, mushrooms, berries and traditional Western tonic herbs.
So, another facet of your research into a natural body detox for the body is deciding which, if any, detox product is best for you.
