If you feel like you want to get your diet or weight loss detox off to a good start, you have most likely heard that a body detox is the best first step. Nothing like detoxing the body to motivate you to change your lifestyle! So let’s look at some of the methods we can use to detoxify the body.

There are quite a few ways to detox the body available: lemon detox, watermelon, various detox products containing natural ingredients. For example some people believe that apple cider vinegar cleanses your body of toxins.

For some people aromatherapy is much more than a fragrant massage. It is an important element in the process of detoxing the body. The molecules of the oil are absorbed through the skin and travel to the brain. For others, water is the most important natural ingredient in a detox program.

A natural colon cleanse is believed by many to be indispensable in any program aimed at detoxing the body. Adherents of this practice say that colon cleansing should be undertaken every six months or so if it is to make a contribution to a natural body detox.

A herb from the Amazon region called Acai Berry is getting a lot of publicity in connection with natural body detox programs. It contains antioxidants and fibers which are said to be essential for cleansing your system.

Stress is a major factor in everybody’s life. We absorb it from our environment just like we do any other toxin. Not only that, stress gets in the way of the body’s natural process intended to detox the body. Saunas, yoga and meditation will help enormously if you we want to detoxify the body of built up stress.

There are also more radical ways to release stress. Placing crystals on certain areas of the body is believed by some to be effective. This technique is a product of the New Age which relies on suspension of skepticism to welcome the calming effect of the crystals.

A simple way to detoxify the body of stress is to take a bath. Many experts in stress relief recommend sea salt as the basis for a stress-relieving bath. Two cups is a good amount to dissolve in your bath along with three drops each of essential oils of rosewood, sandalwood and lavender.
